Ms Corby has been part of CrossFit since it started in Bathurst four years ago, being part of the coaching team and reaching the highest point of CrossFit in Australia.
But now, her fitness goals have been put on hold following a tragic injury that occurred while playing on a jumping pillow.
“Ash suffered an accident on Boxing Day where she fractured her C7 vertebrae,” CrossFit 2795 owner Dan George said.
“She was flown to RPA, where she spent her time up until Friday, when she had surgery where there were two rods inserted.”
In addition to inserting the roads, floating bone fragments that were pressing on her nerves were removed.
Mr George said that CrossFit would be “rallying behind a little legend” with a fundraiser on Saturday at the Kelso facility.
“We want to bring our community together in any way we can to support Ash,” he said.
“We'll be bringing as many people together as we can for a day of fun, and also to celebrate our fourth birthday.”
Five different workouts will be offered on the day, incorporating a range of fitness activities from barbells to rowing.
The activities will be scaled so that people of all different fitness levels can participate.
To help raise money, the entry fee of $10 will be donated to Ms Corby, while a GoFundMe page has also been established.
CrossFit will also accept cash donations on the day.
Mr George hopes that the community will come out in support of Ms Corby.
“Come in and join the fun, the program is suited to everyone, get behind our little mate Ash and do your best,” he said.
CrossFit 2795 is located at 10 Wembley Place, Kelso.
People are asked to arrive on Saturday from 9.30am, with the program starting at 10am.
Anyone who can't make it on the day is welcome to donate to the GoFundMe page.
