Thunder went into the match at Spotless Stadium knowing that a win over the then fourth placed Renegades would lift them into first on the ladder.
It came down to the final over, but skipper Alex Blackwell (66 not out off 48) blasted a six from the first ball to seal the win at 4-141.
Earlier Blackwell elected to field first for the ninth occasion so far this season after winning the toss.
It was not the same Spotless pitch on which Griffith shone against the Sydney Sixers on January 2, this time using one which was more batter friendly.
Griffith again mixed up her deliveries – her efforts including an 82.2km/hr slow ball – as she finished her four overs with 0-31.
Nine dot balls were mixed in with four boundaries as Renegades finished its 20 overs at 4-139.
Griffith was once more thrown the new ball and once more had the challenge of bowling to a pair of form openers.
Between them Sophie Molineux and Danni Wyatt had scored close to 600 runs this season. They had also helped their side to four wins in the space of nine days.

Bowling to an off-side field in a two-over spell, Griffith altered her line in search of an early breakthrough but was unable to find one.
Griffith also bowled the 12th and 19th overs for Thunder which went for six and nine runs respectively.
It was just the second time this season Griffith had gone wicket-less in a match – the other against Adelaide Strikers – but she was still offered praise.
Thunder team-mate and regular opening bowler Rene Farrell, who is recovering from a broken hand, said she has been impressed by the Bathurst product.
“She has been bowling fantastically well, I probably won’t get my spot with the [new] ball back off her,” Farrell laughed. “But she’s been taking those big wickets.”
Thunder’s next test is against Brisbane Heat on Saturday.
