The Supercharger, which owners of Tesla electric vehicles can use to rapidly recharge their car, was installed in the car park behind the old TAFE building just over a year ago.
It is only temporary, however, and is due to be replaced by a permanent charger in Bathurst at a location that has yet to be announced.

Deputy mayor Bobby Bourke said the Supercharger was proving popular.
“It is being used, on average, every day since it was installed in December 2017,” he said.
“The origin of drivers is confidential and Tesla cannot provide this information.
“Anecdotally and from information gained from users, drivers seem to be coming from a range of locations – Orange, the Blue Mountains, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra.”
He said the Tesla drivers were using the William Street Supercharger in the same way petrol drivers would use a service station - to fill up during a journey inland or “just topping up whilst they are visiting the region”.
In a recent confidential meeting, council voted to authorise general manager David Sherley to sign a licence agreement on behalf of council for a permanent Supercharger station at an unnamed council facility.
Cr Bourke said council was getting closer to an announcement.
“All connection approvals are in place and once the construction design is finalised and scheduled in the next month or so, we should be able to make an announcement,” he said.
