A few die-hard fans of ‘The King’ hopped off the ‘Elvis Express’ to meet eagerly awaiting members of the Bathurst community and while their stay was short, they had enough time to pose for photos.
The Elvis Festival has been a staple of the Parkes community since 1993, and features a grand host of events and competitions celebrating Elvis’ storied legacy.
The theme for the 2019 installment of the festival is ‘All Shook Up,’ stemming from Elvis’ 1957 hit song of the same name.
The festival has enjoyed an exponential growth in popularity over the last few years, with last year’s event attracting around 26,500 people.
Globally, the festival has a reach of more than 200 million people, and is endorsed by Elvis Presley Enterprises Inc. in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Parkes Elvis Festival started on Wednesday and will run until Sunday.
