CrossFit 2795 held a fundraiser at the gym on Saturday to both celebrate its fourth birthday and raise money for Ms Corby, who has coached there.
Ms Corby fractured her C7 vertebrae in an accident on Boxing Day, when she was playing on a jumping pillow.
She has since had surgery to stabilise the area and remove floating bone fragments that were pressing on her nerves.
CrossFit 2795 owner Dan George said there was a lot of support on Saturday, with 130 people participating in the five workouts.
He said that some people had travelled some distance to participate in the fundraiser, which was amazing to see.
There were also a lot of first-timers and people from the local hockey community, which Ms Corby has been involved in.
Also there on the day was Ms Corby herself.
“She was there for a few hours. It was great to have her there and there was a buzz around from people seeing her,” Mr George said.
More than $4000 was raised on the day, which will be handed over to Ms Corby.
“It will go towards the cost of rehab and helping her get back on her feet,” Mr George said.
Some of the money that was raised came through a GoFundMe page, which was set up ahead of the fundraiser.
