BATHURST is a chance of setting a January maximum temperature record this week as another heatwave rolls across the state.
Bathurst is forecast to get to 41 degrees on Wednesday, which will better the 40.2 degrees that is the city’s hottest January day on record (which came in 2013), and 40 degrees on Thursday and Friday.
The minimum is forecast to get to 23 degrees on Friday morning.
Bathurst’s coolest day over the next five days is set to be 35 degrees on Saturday.
A cool change is forecast on Sunday that will take the temperature back to 29 degrees – close to the long-term average maximum for Bathurst for January.
Bathurst’s 23 degree minimum forecast for Friday morning will be hotter than the average maximum for the city for April, May, June, July, August, September and October and only slightly under the average maximum for November.
