It is the first in a series of school holiday workshops inspired by the ‘Curiouser and Curiouser’ exhibition.
The workshop involved using sticks to prop up the faces, adding a more surreal element to their character.
“I went with the idea of the plinths because Nell [the artist who inspired the workshop] had put her creations on chairs,” workshop tutor Fiona Howle said.
Five more workshops are scheduled to be held at BRAG over the next couple of weeks, which will further encourage children to get their creative minds flowing and embrace the absurd.
“We find that most children who take part return for more than one workshop throughout the school holidays,” Ms Howle said.
Each workshop costs $10 per child and for more information, visit www.bathurstart.com.au.
