CALLUM Hotham made a big impression in his NSW Premier Cricket first grade debut on Saturday when he scored 66 for Western Suburbs in their match against St George.

The former City Colts player warranted a first grade appearance following a century and three half centuries in second grade, which lead to an average of 35.5 from 10 innings.
He opened the batting for Western on Saturday with the tough equation of catching St George's mammoth total of 349, constructed by centuries to Kurtis Patterson (167 not out) and Luke Bartier (133).
Hotham’s appearance led to a rare Bathurst first grade double up as he faced former test cricketer and current NSW spearhead Trent Copeland.
Under a battering a tough St George attack Hotham withstood the pressure while five of his teammates were sent back to the pavilion before him.

Hotham constructed a patient innings over his two and a half hours at the crease, knocking away just four boundaries before he was caught by Nick Stapleton from the bowling of Thomas Ortiz.
Western Suburbs finished all out for 194. Hotham’s 66 was the highest score of the innings.
It’s been a remarkable climb through the ranks for Hotham who spent the majority of last season helping the club’s fourth grade side reach the grand final.
