For a limited time, the Cat Protection Society NSW is offering $50 cat desexing plus F3 vaccination for healthcare card holders and pensioners who are residents of the Bathurst local government area. In conjunction, Bathurst Regional Council is also offering microchipping free of charge as part of the Operation Cat program. Bookings for the program must be made by calling 9519 7201 (Monday to Friday, between 9am and 4pm). The program will run until February 22.

Australia Day celebrations are coming up. Australia Day awards ceremony will be held at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on Friday, January 25 from 5.30pm for 6pm. Saturday, January 26 will feature a barbecue breakfast and community celebrations from 8am at Eglinton War Memorial Hall; citizenship ceremony at BMEC at 10am; and free entry from 11am at the Manning Aquatic Centre.
