He just finished competing in the 2019 Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup for the under 16 NSW Kookaburra team on Saturday.
But he had some amazing news given to him the day before on Friday.
Limbrick, who plays in the centre position, was announced as one of just 10 players selected in the Australia Country under 16s team to tour New Zealand throughout April.
It’s a pretty big deal to be selected in the squad, considering only two other New South Welshmen were selected for the team.
But Limbrick is being quite modest about his opportunity, saying he’s extremely thankful to have been selected in the squad.
“Yeah I was a bit shocked and there were plenty of other good players, but I was really happy that I got picked,” he said.
“It’s pretty big, because only two other players from NSW got picked.”

Those two other players from NSW are Charlie Lentfer, from Newcastle, and Kai Suine, from Griffith, players Limbrick has played with before when representing NSW under 16s.
The team will be competing in the Mel Young Easter Basketball Classic at Tauranga, almost two and a half hours south of New Zealand’s most populated city Auckland.
It will run from April 18 to 22, and it’ll be more than just teams from Australia and New Zealand, rather teams from all across the Pacific Islands.
That means it’ll be a fantastic opportunity for Limbrick to take on and experience players from other countries.
“It’ll be good to see the other countries play,” he said.
“I’m definitely feeling both nervous and excited. It’s my first big tournament.”
Limbrick said he’s also a player that tries to learn from his feedback.
“I do what I’m told to do and I take and apply the feedback that my coaches give me,” he said.
“I’m always motivated and I’m always trying to improve.”
Limbrick also gave credit to his junior coach Grant Cole, which has helped him develop as a basketballer.
“Thanks to Grant Cole, because over the last one to two years, he has coached me, pushing me to the best of my abilities and bringing out the best in me on and off the court,” he said.
“Without Grant’s coaching, I doubt I would’ve made it this far in basketball.
“Another thanks to my coach over the week at Albury, Jared Scoines. He has shown me what it is like to compete at the next level of basketball. Jared would say, ‘First you make your habits, then your habits make you’.
“Learning eight new plays in the first day has really helped as well, as I can now take these plays forward into future games.
“Thank you also to Bathurst Regional Council, Bathurst RSL, Devro, Reliance Bank, 1503 2BS Gold and 99.3 B-Rock FM for helping fund me to attend the Australia Country Junior Basketball Cup.”
