One caller rang a resident claiming to be from their telephone provider and requested personal details, while another claimed to be from their bank stating that a sum of money had been taken from their account.
Police said the resident didn't bank with the company the caller claimed to be from.
“Chifley Police District would like to warn people to remain vigilant and not to provide unknown callers with either person or financial details,” police said.
“No telephone company or bank will ever call and request such details over the phone.”
The warning comes after a resident raised their concerns last week after repeatedly getting calls threatening to disconnect their landline and internet services.
Anyone who receives a suspicious call should contact the company the person has claimed to be from, otherwise they can report the scam to police.
