A BUSHFIRE that ignited during a lightning storm north of Bathurst late Sunday afternoon is now under control.

Emergency services were called to the Bridle Track at Hill End with reports of an out-of-control bushfire.
“The seven hectare fire was caused by a lightening strike, and had no vehicle access,” NSW Rural Fire Service Eglinton brigade said.
“This required firefighters to access the fire on foot and commence dry firefighting operations.
“The team were backed up with aerial resources and RAFT [Remote Area Firefighting Team] members.”
Information provided by the Chifley/Lithgow Remote Area Fire Fighting Team had experienced a very busy past few days.
“Some of the crew spent the past four days on RART standby out of Bathurst which was a very busy with fighting fires on the Bridle Track fire, Hodges Road fire, Finger post trial fire, Growee mountain fire, Arabian nights fire and California fire,” it read.
At 7.30am on Monday a number of fires are listed with the NSW RFS in the Chifley/Lithgow team area, these include:
- Bushfire, seven hectares, under control – The Bridle Track, Hill End
- Bushfire, one hectare, under control – Hodges Road, Bruinbun
- Bushfire, one hectare, under control – Stuarts Access Road, Bruinbun
- Bushfire, one hectare, under control – Castlereagh Highway, Capertee
- Bushfire, under control – Crudine Road, Aarons Pass, NSW
