Bathurst City Awards Ceremony
Kick off the celebrations early with the award ceremony which will take place on Australia Day Eve (so Friday). Find out who is getting recognised for their great 2018 from 6pm at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre. The event is free. There will be two Event of the Year awards, the Youth Arts Award, the Jo Ross Greening Bathurst Award and the traditional Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year awards.
Start the day on a full stomach
After an exciting night on Friday, start your Australia Day right on Saturday from 8am with the Eglinton barbecue breakfast at the Eglinton War Memorial Hall. Along with the delicious barbecue, there’s the official ceremony, singing of the national anthem and flag raising, car displays, novelty races and giveaways for the kids.
Watch our residents become our newest citizens
Following the breakfast, more than 20 citizens will be formally recognised and take the citizenship pledge. Head back to the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre at 10am.
Or are sporting activities your thing?
Get signed up for the Australia Day Parkrun and Triathlon Inter-club Race. People are going to gather from around the Central West for this exciting race.
