That is the message from coach Dean Oxley as he and his fellow coaches embark on their preparations for the 2019 Central West Rugby Union season.
When training commences on Tuesday Oxley is encouraging new faces to come along and stake their claims for a spot in the first XI. Trials against Newcastle powerhouses Merewether-Carlton plus Subbies are planned to help in the selection process.
“We are extending an invitation to all rugby players to come along. We are a successful club, last year we had four grand finalists and our fifth side was a finalist. But we are always looking for new members to get involved,” Oxley said.
“Nobody has ownership of a jumper, they have to earn it each year. So people shouldn’t feel they won’t be given an opportunity, those trial games will be a chance to gain selection.”
Bulldogs will train each Tuesday and Thursday at Ashwood Park between 6.15pm-7.30pm.
