In her second season playing in the women’s Twenty20 competition, Griffith’s improvement with the ball was obvious.
She better mixed up her line and length, executed more slower balls, bowled better to her field as she stuck to her plans and importantly, took wickets. It was something she was not able to do last summer
Her effort earned her a mention in Thunder’s season wrap as one of its players on the rise.
“Lisa Griffith enjoyed a breakout season, taking nine wickets at 24.60 (up from zero in Women’s Big Bash League 3) and cementing herself as a key part of Thunder’s XI,” the review stated.
“The medium-pacer finished the season with best figures of 2-17 and a player of the match performance to boot!”
Thunder reached the semi-finals where went down in a final ball thriller to eventual premiers Brisbane Heat.
