Last Monday 125 hardened Veterans, including 13 ladies, contested at Duntryleague with the winner being the much-trophied and highly talented Steve Bray from Wentworth Golf Club.

Bray amassed 40 points by carding three birdies, one on the difficult ninth hole, and in the process almost parring the course with 71 strokes which included a missed heart breaking one-metre putt on the eighteenth.
Apart from all the trophies Bray has won at Wentworth Golf Course he has won the prestigious City of Orange Veterans Golf Classic, held in March each year, no less than three times.
Darrell Barker, from Bathurst, was runner-up to Bray with 38 points and Dave Rouse, from Wentworth, who was a highly valued committeeman on the Veterans Golf Classic and board member at Wentworth for many years, came in third with 37.
In B Grade consistent Andy McGeoch from Duntryleague won with a Bray-equalling 40 points to shade out David Gillard from Wellington (38 points) and Malcolm Brereton from Yeoval also 38.
The ladies continued the success of Wentworth players and the visitors from distant parts with Robin Sharp-O'Neill winning with 39 points and Irene Bishop from Oberon who had 38.
Closest to the pins were John D Davis, Larry Grant, David Ryan and Jim Martin.
Captain Jim Johnston invited all Central West Vets to the next event at Ex-Services on February 18.
