And Regan is no stranger to Bathurst, having played for Railway in the 1980, the side that went on to win the Group 10 premiership that year.
However, Regan didn’t feature in the decider, having missed it through suspension, Bathurst rugby league great Royce George reflects.
“He got into a blue in a game against Workies and got suspended for the rest of the season, while we won the grand final,” he said.
“He wasn’t a dirty player, but he played hard and he gave it 110%.”
When Regan is at the Bathurst RSL on Saturday, he will be reflecting on his career while talking about the work that Men of League do with the rugby league community.
Mr George, who is president of the Mid West Committee, said Men of League just don’t help men who have played rugby league, but women and children who have been involved in rugby league in one way or another.
“We provide wellbeing support and referrals to those within the league community who are in genuine need and are unable to overcome that need,” he said.
“We support rugby league’s volunteers, administrators, players, coaches, referees and their families from all levels of the game through our benevolence and wellbeing programs.”
The fundraiser will start at 5pm, costing $25 for two beers and finger food.
