The Saints face City Colts in this Saturday’s third Bathurst District Cricket Association round of two-day fixtures, looking at the possibility of an eighth straight win in the competition.
Colts were the last team to bring down the Saints way back in November but two-day cricket brings a whole new set of skills and requirements to the table.
Ryan singled out the two batsmen who led Colts home in that victory – Henry Shoemark and Jaden Ekert – as the key wickets.
“Obviously it’s a very talented side we’re going up against. If we don’t get early wickets then we’ll find ourselves in trouble,” he said.
“If we end up batting for the same amount of time then I feel like Colts will likely outscore us. It’s about trying to bring down guys like Henry and Jaden early and stop them doing any damage.
“Each game’s tough. We’re not too worried about what our opponents are going to do. Whether we’re batting or bowling it’s about sticking to that game plan and maintaining our composure.”

Saints come into the match off a convincing 150-run win over Bathurst City.
Ryan said it will be an interesting experience moving from The Scots School to Loco Oval.
“You definitely get more value for your shots out at Loco,” he said.
“It’s probably going to be a faster outfield than what we had at Scots. The outfield there was quite long and we probably ended up scoring more runs than we needed.”
The game features a large number of Central West Wranglers players coming back from their match at the Sydney Cricket Ground including Nic Broes, Tanvir Singh, Connor Slattery and Matt Fearnley for Pat’s.
With Rugby Union having the bye there’s a strong chance the winner of this match will move to the top of the table.
