Nikki’s Cafe on William opened their doors a few weeks ago, and has already started to leave an impression with their refreshing coffee and home-made pasta.
“I believe that the coffee we make here is second to none in Bathurst,” Nikki’s Cafe on William co-owner Pino Calabro said.
“The pasta that we serve, including the accompanying sauces, is fresh and made in-store.”
Mr Calabro and fellow co-owner Nikki Schmidt moved to Bathurst in late 2017 from the Hawkesbury region in Sydney’s north-west, where they were heavily involved in the hospitality scene for a decade.
In order to further grow the cafe’s brand, Mr Calabro is looking to open up the venue on Friday and Saturday nights to provide a unique Italian restaurant experience.
“We have a liquor license from a former store that we’re looking to transfer to this venue,” Mr Calabro said.
“The key to running a standout cafe is to be unique and offer something different for everyone.”
Nikki’s Cafe on William has also been championing a creative approach to their specials board.
Last Friday, the venue ran a special for senior citizens offering a ‘cake of the day’ and a small coffee for just $5.50.
While starting a new business comes with its fair share of challenges, Mr Calabro hopes the venue will become a desirable Bathurst venue in time.
“So far, people have warmly received our coffee and have returned for more,” he said.
