A new business that has recently opened on William Street is adding a vibrant new feel to Bathurst’s burgeoning cafe market. Nikki’s Cafe on William opened their doors a few weeks ago, and has already started to leave an impression with their refreshing coffee and home-made pasta. READ ALSO: Bobbies Clothing closes Bathurst store to focus on online market “I believe that the coffee we make here is second to none in Bathurst,” Nikki’s Cafe on William co-owner Pino Calabro said. “The pasta that we serve, including the accompanying sauces, is fresh and made in-store.” Mr Calabro and fellow co-owner Nikki Schmidt moved to Bathurst in late 2017 from the Hawkesbury region in Sydney’s north-west, where they were heavily involved in the hospitality scene for a decade. In order to further grow the cafe’s brand, Mr Calabro is looking to open up the venue on Friday and Saturday nights to provide a unique Italian restaurant experience. READ ALSO: Bathurst Wholefood Co-Op continuing their firm community focus “We have a liquor license from a former store that we’re looking to transfer to this venue,” Mr Calabro said. “The key to running a standout cafe is to be unique and offer something different for everyone.” Nikki’s Cafe on William has also been championing a creative approach to their specials board. Last Friday, the venue ran a special for senior citizens offering a ‘cake of the day’ and a small coffee for just $5.50.
