Thus far Renshaw is just training, but he hopes to contest his first race for Team Dimension Data before the end of the month given how well his recovery has gone.
Renshaw was struck by a car in early December while training in Bathurst and broke his pelvis, an injury which was initially expected to keep him off the bike for three months.
“Three months, it’s going to be a lifetime,” he said at the time.
“It hurts, it really hurts, this setback is probably the worst one I’ve had to deal with.”

But he was back on his bike in early January and on the weekend in Europe, did a five-hour ride with fellow Australian professional Caleb Ewan and Irish star Sam Bennett.
“So nice to be back on the road pushing watts with the boys,” Renshaw said.
“After my pelvis injury I have been working extra hard in the gym and on the bike to come back stronger.
“My pelvis has healed really well. I’m back to training 25 hours on the bike and two or three hours a week in the gym.
“My first race is yet to be decided but I’m hoping to pin a number on in February.”
