James Keene, Matt Thewlis and Richard Luff will steer the team’s Volkswagen Golf in the increasingly popular enduro at Mount Panorama in April.
All three raced for the team in last year’s Australian Production Car series and won their respective classes – Keene the B1 champion in a Golf while Thewils and Luff found D class glory in a Mini.
Their goal at Bathurst will be a B1 class win.
Keene has contested the three previous Bathurst 6 Hours with the team. On debut in 2016 their Mini Cooper was forced to withdraw after 47 laps, but 12 months later they improved to sixth in class D.
Last year they switched to a Golf and placed third in class and 22nd outright.
“I’m excited to be running with Richard and Matt,” Keene said.
“I'm looking forward to seeing what the car will do with 12 months of development and set up work having now been completed.”
Thewlis and Luff – who picked up round wins at Queensland Raceway, Winton and Phillip Island in the Australian Production Car series – are keen to join the team at the Mount.
“[I’m] Still very excited since finishing the 2018 season in first place with Team MWM Racing and now very chuffed that we get to jump into their VW Golf R weapon and sprint around Australia’s most iconic race track Bathurst for six hours,” Luff posted on Facebook.
Like Keene, both Luff and Thewlis are familiar with the 6.213 kilometre circuit. MWM hopes that will serve them well.

“Both Matt and Richard have plenty of previous Bathurst experience, with them both having coached around the circuit, as well as having race starts in several endurance races at the circuit over the years, including the Bathurst 6 hour and the Bathurst 2 hour Showroom Showdown,” the team posted on Facebook.
“Both of them were itching to jump into the Golf right throughout the last year and the opportunity opened for them to jump in for the 6 Hour and the pairing jumped at the chance.”
The 6 Hour runs from April 19-21.
