AN Oberon man caught speeding at 147km/h on a Bathurst street with a blood alcohol reading more than three times the legal limit has pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

Mark Kenneth Daykin, 48, of Albion Street, Oberon, appeared before magistrate Cate Follent in Bathurst Local Court on Monday.
He pleaded guilty to driving with a high-range prescribed concentration of alcohol; driving recklessly, furiously or at a dangerous speed or manner; not giving particulars to another driver; and two counts of contravening a restriction in an apprehended violence order.
Daykin was arrested by police in Bathurst on January 27.
He was involved in a minor collision in George Street about 3.30pm and left the scene of the crash without exchanging particulars with the other driver.
A short time later, police say Daykin was pulled over by officers in Durham Street,st after being clocked at a speed of 147km/h in a 60km/h zone along Stewart Street.
He was arrested and given a breath test, which produced a positive result.
Further analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.183, placing the driver in the high-range category for drink-driving.
Daykin was subsequently charged with a string of offences and his licence was suspended on the spot.

He was refused bail by police, but made a successful release application, with bail conditions imposed by the court.
Accepting the guilty pleas, Ms Follent ordered a sentencing assessment report from Bathurst Community Corrections District Office.
Bail undertaken on January 29 is to continue, with Daykin to be sentenced on March 25 in Bathurst Local Court.
