The promoters behind the show announced on Wednesday that more general admission tickets would be available for the Carrington Park gig and have since clarified the details.
They will be "Standing on the hill" tickets, will cost $119 and will be for the grass behind the seated sections at the January 22, 2020 show.
Matthew Lazarus-Hall, the tour producer on behalf of Chugg Entertainment, said it was not the first time a standing section had been added for a Sir Elton concert in Australia.
"We've done it in other locations and on other rectangular grounds," he said.

Though tickets for the general public for the Bathurst show will not go on sale until 9am this Friday, February 15, Mr Lazarus-Hall said the promoters had seen enough to be confident in adding the standing section.
"We expect and hope to sell out quickly," he said.
He praised Bathurst Regional Council for working with the promoters to increase the capacity at Carrington Park.
"Council, as they have from day one, have been fantastic," he said.
The stage will be set up at the Howick Street end of Carrington Park for next year's concert and the ground will get more entrances and exits to ensure the expected crowd of about 15,000 can get in and out of the venue seamlessly.
Non-standing tickets for the Bathurst show range from $139 to $339, though some tickets have already appeared on reselling website Viagogo for more than $2500.
