And while numbers might be up, event organiser Amy Toole said there's still for people to registered, with entries being accepted on the morning.
Having previously been held in the city’s CBD, the undie run will start this year at Morse Park and continue to the Panorama Hotel.
Ms Toole explained that the event is to raise money for children who are affect by neurofibromatosis, a genetic condition that causes tumours to grow on nerves
“It’s to raise money for the kids, really,” Ms Toole said. “That's the whole idea of it.
“You don't have to run in your undies and there will be prizes up for grabs for the best-dressed.”
The idea, she said, is to feel uncomfortable for a brief time because children with neurofibromatosis feel uncomfortable regularly.
Blayney High School student Fiona Bottom is one person who suffers from the condition, being born with it.
She isn't affected by neurofibromatosis, but for people who do, tumours may grow inside the body and outside it and the tumous can be both benign and malignant.
"I reckon it's very good to have a fundraiser here in Bathurst, because it lets people out of the big cities to raise funds, not just in the big cities," she said.
"I'm not affected by the condition but there many out there that suffer from it."
The run, which will raise money for the Children’s Tumour Foundation’s work, will be held this Sunday, February 17.
Registrations will open at 9.30am on Sunday morning at Morse Park and they'll be open until the fun run gets underway at 10.45am.
There'll be awards for the best dressed competitors on the day, as
well as the highest fundraisers.
Afterwards, participants will have lunch at the Panorama Hotel.
Ms Toole wanted to give a mention to the major sponsors Calvin Klein and the Dancing Divas, who will run competitors through some warm ups.
