Vittorio Travan, who is about to start his final year of a sports journalism degree, recently participated in a training course for his upcoming role as head resident of the Diggings student residences.
“It has been a great learning experience and it was a fantastic opportunity for fellow head residents to bounce ideas off of each other,” Mr Travan said.
Mr Travan was enticed into becoming a head resident in order to help shape an inviting on-campus lifestyle for students.
“Head residents play such a vital role in shaping the student experience at CSU, and I wanted to put my hand up to be that person driving such experiences,” he said.
CSU’s on-campus orientation week is set to commence on Monday, February 25, and Mr Travan said there is an exciting schedule planned for incoming first year students.
“There’s going to be a range of amazing events that will help first year students interact with people living on and off campus,” he said.
“We’ve got toga nights, trivia nights, a bush dance, and there will also be movie nights out on the library lawn showcasing how beautiful Bathurst is at night-time.”
Having lived on campus for his whole degree, CSU’s Bathurst campus has become Mr Travan’s home away from home.
“The beauty of living on campus is the convenience of having friends right outside your door to share some memorable experiences with,” he said.
