Big league at Carrington Park
THE countdown to the round three NRL clash between the Penrith Panthers and Melbourne Storm is well and truly on. Tickets are still available for the match at Carrington Park on Saturday, March 30. Tickets are available on Ticketek through BathurstNRL.com.au
This is the sixth year our city has hosted the Penrith Panthers and I’m sure the match will attract a good crowd.
Fans of rugby league will be in for a great night of football with the Western Women’s under 18s grand final and the Group 10 men’s first grade game between Bathurst Panthers and Blayney Bears being played as curtain-raisers to the main game.
The game brings immense benefits to our community, creating seven full-time jobs and injecting $880,000 into the local economy.
Children will have the opportunity to meet and learn from the Penrith team at the Play Like a Panther Super Clinic. The clinic is open to children five to 12 years of age.
All participants must register online at www.bathurstnrl.com.au. The clinic will be held on Thursday, March 28 from 4pm-5pm at the Bathurst Sports Ground.

New Bullet service will provide more flexibility
PEOPLE love the Bathurst Bullet for being a fast, comfortable way to take a day trip to Sydney, but leaving at 5.46am and getting back at 9.32pm is not convenient for everyone.
Well, train travellers in Bathurst will have more choice and flexibility when an additional NSW TrainLink train service to and from Sydney starts in 2020.
On weekdays, the new service will depart Bathurst around 7.30am, so those who don’t want to leave in the very early morning still have a direct service to Sydney. The afternoon return service, leaving around 3pm and arriving in Bathurst before 7pm, will be attractive for those who need to be home earlier for family and social commitments.
This additional service will operate seven days a week. On weekends, the new Bathurst to Sydney service will operate at a similar time to the existing weekday service and, in the afternoon, will return at a similar time to the new weekday service.
Savings for young and old
WE all know the cost of children’s sport can be overwhelming, so in 2019 a second $100 Active Kids voucher will be available for the period from July 1 to December 31.
From 2020, two $100 Active Kids vouchers will be available from Service NSW for the entire calendar year. The NSW Government will also deliver a new Senior Savers Card for all NSW residents over the age of 60, available from July 1, 2019.
The Senior Savers Card will give seniors in NSW access to the discounts offered at more than 7300 businesses currently participating in the NSW Seniors Card Program.
Combined, these savings offer an excellent opportunity for grandparents and children to connect. We are doing everything we can through our strong financial management to ease cost of living burdens.
