Bathurst have four key players, who started the 2018-19 campaign in their squad, out for their crunch match against Orange, in the decider at Riawena Oval.
Declan Fawkner, who started Bathurst's two games against Orange back October 2018, has left town, while Fletcher Norris is out injured and Harrison Field and captain Liam Cooke are unavailable.
It's now left coach Clint Bryant with a bit of dilemma ahead the decider, in terms of selecting a side.
He said it'll be difficult to get the win against Orange but he did note their strong performance against the team from the colour city back on October 28 in the under 16s Premier League, when they just lost by two wickets.
"It's going to be pretty tough to get the job done in Orange," he said.
"It's going to be even tougher with those four players out. Orange is a strong team and bowling them out will be the key.
"Orange have got the older age group and a lot of their kids are already 16. They're pretty good and we could've beaten them in Bathurst before Christmas, but we just lost in the end.
"I'm not saying we can't beat them on the day. Anything can happen on the day."
Bathurst's under 16s is the same team that has competed in both the Challenge Shield and Premier League.
Bathurst won and lost a game apiece in the Premier League, going down to Orange by two wickets and holding on for 14 runs against Lachlan.
In the Challenge Shield, Bathurst were pumped by eight wickets against Orange at the Country Club Oval, but played much better in their big seven-wicket win against Mitchell East back in November, played at George Park 1.
The win against Mitchell East put Bathurst into the Sunday's final, a match-high knock of 50 runs from Cooper Brien and four wickets from Ethan Muller helping steer the hosts to victory.
Brien has 86 runs all up in the Mitchell Cricket Council Challenge, in total from two innings the best all-up runs in the competition, one better than Orange's Blake Weymouth.
Ethan Muller's total of six wickets in two matches is also the best bowling figures in the competition, double the second best of three by Orange's Hugh Middleton and Bathurst teammate Jacob Ryan.
Saturday final's between Bathurst and Orange will get underway at 10am, from Riawena Oval.
