HERE we go again. A state election is upon us shortly and candidates are searching for your vote by issuing brochures which sometimes sound too good to be true.

I refer to a mail-out letter which I received from the current Member for Bathurst Paul Toole about the Regional Seniors Transport Card, which offers an annual $250 discount on fuel and travel costs.
"To be eligible for the card, you need to be either an aged pensioner or a superannuation and annuity income earner who lives in regional NSW. It’s that simple," the brochure says.
Well, finding out how "simple” it is to apply for the card was the difficult part.
I went to Mr Toole's office to find out what action is required to get the card, but they had no knowledge about the card promotion and suggested I ask at the electoral office. There, I still couldn't get any details.
I now ask Mr Toole to put out a detailed explanation to the electorate of Bathurst on this card proposal. The limited information I could get seemed to imply that it was a National Party decision. So what happens if the Coalition does not get re-elected?
Also mentioned at the electoral office was that if it goes ahead, it will not start until after January 2020!
No wonder the public has trouble trusting politicians.
