Sunday only - Rebellion on the Turon – For those interested in Bathurst’s gold history and that of the Turon River and Sofala then make sure you join with the residents of the Turon Gold Fields, N.S.W. Corp of Marines, and Lithgow Living History in a day of historical re-enactments and displays. It starts at 10am with the firing of the 1820s cannon. The Redcoats will be there with pistol and sword duels. Ride a Cobb & Co coach, see the penny farthings and then visit the 1850s surgeon’s tent. Kids, be sure you visit the archaeological dig. The re-enactment of the “Rebellion on the Turon” with the Turon Diggers uprising against the gold licensing fee and the march on the Police Barracks will be sprung after a fresh corn lunch at 1pm.

The Auxiliary is looking forward to another year of fundraising and always welcome new members at their meetings. Wednesday, March 20. Join the members for afternoon tea after the meetings, which are held the third Wednesday each month, at 2pm in the St. Vincent's Function Room, Gormans Hill Road.
Celebrations for Harmony Day will be held on Saturday, March 23 at the Library Art/Gallery forecourt from 10.00am to 12 noon. The event will include morning tea, a barbecue, dancing, young musicians, drumming, and bagpipes. For more information call 6333 6523.
Sustainable Living Expo. Craig Reucassel, host of ABC television’s popular series “The War on Waste” will be the guest speaker at this year’s Sustainable Living Expo on Saturday, 23 March. The expo runs from 8.00am to 12.30pm and will be held in conjunction with the Bathurst Farmers’ Markets at the Bathurst Showgrounds. It will also feature family entertainment Zoo to You and The Radical Recyclers. Entry is by gold coin donation to Bathurst Lions Club.
