While Copeland has long been a spearhead of the NSW attack in the Sheffield Shield competition, this season he joined Channel 7's Test cricket commentary team as well.
His brilliant analysis of the game throughout the summer earned him a nomination for the best newcomer.
"He seems to think it's a stitch up," fellow Blues talent Sean Abbott said.
"But obviously he's pretty chuffed with that. You know he's worked pretty hard to do that and put some time into interests outside of cricket.
"So I'm pretty happy for him, but all the lads certainly took their turn in taking the mickey out of him once they saw that photo [on nominees' list] come up on social media."
