Dave Nicholls also made an appearance, the former Charlestons player in the captain-coach role for the top grade outfit from 1967 to 1968.
Charlestons' 1979 premiership success was the only Group 10 premiership the club won, knocking-off Cowra 11–9 in the decider at the Bathurst Sports Ground.
Charlestons lost the grand final in 1952 (to Orange CYMS), 1966 (to Oberon) and 1967 (to Oberon).
The club eventually amalgamated with the Bathurst Leagues Club to form Bathurst Penguins in 1989.
Penguins then went on to amalgamate with Panthers Leagues Club in 2000, to former the Bathurst Panthers.
