The gold rush village hosted around 900 orienteers from all over Australia and New Zealand in late 2017 when it was the location for the Australian Orienteering Championships and School Championships.
This time it's the opening round of the 2019 NSW State League and the National Orienteering League that will come to Hill End on the weekend of March 30 and 31.
"We expect more than 300 orienteers to be in the Central West as they return to the awesome gold-mining terrain that so captivated them last time," Orienteering NSW marketing and communications officer Ian Jessup said.

When she was in the region for the championships in 2017, Orienteering NSW team member Joanna Hill told the Advocate that competing in the sport required plenty of training.
“It’s lots of fun and it’s a different sport. You need to be fit and able to run, but need to know geography and maths when reading a map,” she said.
“To be the best, you need to balance out both.”
The event arena for both days of this month's event will be the Post Office Flat on Church Street.
Mr Jessup said the best times to catch the action will be 11am-1pm for the regulars and 1.30pm for the elites (mass start) on the Saturday; and 9.30-11am for the regulars and 9.30-10.30am for the elites on the Sunday.
