Running in conjunction with the Bathurst Farmers Markets, the Bathurst Sustainable Living Expo will introduce members of the community to the variety of local groups promoting environmental awareness.
"Environmental awareness is important for all residents as it is in their power to make a positive contribution to Bathurst's clean and green image," Bathurst mayor Graeme Hanger said.
"Nearly all of Bathurst's community environmental groups will be at the expo conveying a diverse range of messages related to waste management, climate change action, bush regeneration and wildlife rescue."
A key group advocating for sustainability in the region is the Bathurst Wholefood Co-operative, who will be at this weekend's expo promoting sustainable shopping.
"We want to bring to light the benefits of buying in bulk, as it minimises packaging that can prove damaging to the environment," Bathurst Wholefood Co-operative coordinator Denise O'Grady said.

In previous years, the expo has been known for inviting a special guest who has built a reputation in the media for their involvement with environmental projects.
This year's special guest, Craig Reucassel, found fame as a member of satirical comedy group The Chaser, and more recently as the host of the ABC TV series War on Waste.
"Reucassel will offer a great deal of knowledge around waste management and how we can separate our waste from recycling," Mr Hanger said.
The expo will also feature the return of the Shoalhaven Zoo, who will be offering an interactive presentation on native wildlife.
"This is a great chance for residents to learn and ask questions about wildlife and get answers from a qualified zookeeper," Mr Hanger said.
The Bathurst Sustainable Living Expo will get underway this Saturday from 8am.
