A community Harmony Day celebration has been arranged by Bathurst Regional Council, bringing together live entertainment, food and the opportunity to learn about other cultures.
Mayor Graeme Hanger said it would be a fun, free community event that would celebrate diversity.
"Bathurst is a multicultural community. We have over 40 nationalities in Bathurst and they are very welcome," he said.
"It always has been an international and multicultural community, right from the start."
Harmony Day is officially held on March 21, but council has chosen to celebrate on Saturday when more people are available to participate.
The activities will be held in the library forecourt from 10am to 12pm.
"It lends itself to Saturday morning activity and all members of the community are invited," Cr Hanger said.
With Harmony Day just days away, council also wants to spread the word about the support available to migrants through The Neighbourhood Centre.
The centre's services include English tutoring, assisted referrals to vital services and connecting migrants and refugees with community events.
