Yep Got Chooks has drawn the barrier one, the gelding yet to win a race from his two previous starts, which included a $101-chance run in a Bathurst Gold Crown heat on Saturday night.
Frisby has not been overly thrilled with Yep Got Chooks, but is hopeful for a strong run at the Bathurst Paceway on Wednesday night.
"I wouldn't say he's a flash horse, he's just a horse," he said.
"He probably needs a bit of time. I mean he goes alright, he just needs a bit of time, to get some maturity under him."
Frisby said former driver Dennis Wilson gave the gelding his quirky name.
"[Wilson] won a few Gold Crowns and Gold Tiaras," he said.
"He said to me one day, 'You've got some goods name, but you've missed the best name: Yep Got Chooks'. He used to rave on about it all the time.
"I had to call one that, so that's what happened."
And while Yep Got Chooks has drawn the favourable barrier one, Frisby knows, especially after the Gold Crown heats on Saturday night, it won't guarantee a win.
"It didn't help us on Saturday night because I had a couple of barrier ones," he said.
The Frisby-trained Krafty Bart had drawn barrier one in the Gold Crown Heat 2 and started as a raging hot favourite at $1.45, but the young colt galloped within the first 200 metres of the race.
He eventually finished in eighth out of 10 starters, almost 100 metres behind the eventually winner - Pat McGarry - trained by Aaron Williams.
Yep Got Chooks is not the only starter for Frisby on the night, Sundancer Rainbow drawing barrier five in the Gold Tiara Silver Consolation and Krafty Bart getting a chance for some in the first Gold Crown Bronze Consolation.
As well, Steele has drawn the wide barrier eight for the second Gold Crown Bronze Consolation.
Anthony Frisby will drive each chance.
