The C-130J Hercules will fly in from Richmond to mark the unveiling of Hercules Close, the name chosen for one of four new roads in a residential subdivision close to the airport.
Bathurst Regional Council approved the name in February to acknowledge the aircraft's regular visits to the region and also the RAAF's connection to Bathurst Aerodome though its cadet program and its use of the airfield for training purposes.
The visit, from about 11am-1pm, will allow the Hercules crew to thank the wider community for its continued support of Hercules training operations across the Central West.
Cadets and selected community representatives will have the chance to to see and explore the C-130J Hercules while it is on the ground on Saturday while the general public is welcome to come and watch the aircraft land and take off.
However, the general public will not be allowed onto the tarmac or the plane.
