That's according to the Australian Taxation Office's latest release on the average and median taxable incomes for each postcode in the Central West.
The ATO data showed residents with postcode 2800 had the highest average and median taxable incomes for the year 2016-17 compared with those living in areas with postcodes 2795, 2830, 2790 and 2850 in the Central West.

Postcode 2795 represents Bathurst as well as Bald Ridge, Ballyroe, Brewongle, Burraga, Dark Corner, Dunkeld, Duramana, Eglinton, Freemantle, Gemalla, Georges Plains, Hobbys Yards, Isabella, Judds Creek, Kelso, Locksley, Meadow Flat, Mount David, Newbridge and Peel.
Also included are Perthville, Raglan, Rockley, Sofala, Sunny Corner, The Rocks, Trunkey Creek, Turondale, Wambool, Wattle Flat, West Bathurst, Wimbledon, Wisemans Creek and Yetholme.
The average and median taxable incomes of residents in these areas for the year 2016-17 were $53,915 and $44,626 respectively.
It was calculated on the basis of 22,728 residents who filed their tax returns with the ATO.
The average and median taxable incomes for the year 2013-14 were $51,036 and $41,914 respectively.
The average income in 2016-17 grew 5.6 per cent on 2013-14.

Postcode 2800 represents Orange as well as Borenore, Cargo, Lucknow, March, Mullion Creek, Nashdale and Spring Hill.
Their average and median taxable incomes for the year 2016-17 were $57,449 and $44,959 respectively.
It was calculated on the basis of 24,972 residents who filed their tax returns with the ATO.
The average and median taxable incomes for the year 2013-14 were $53,928 and $43,047 respectively.
The average income in 2016-17 grew 6.5 per cent on 2013-14.

The ATO said the profession with the highest income was surgeon, with a national average taxable income of $394,866.
Anaesthetists filled the second spot with an average income of $367,343 and internal medicine specialists came in third with an average income of $299,378.
