Meg James started her business, Baby Bumpkin Bags, last year as a way to help pregnant women in the first few days after birth.

She has created stylish pre-packed hospital bags that have everything a mother and new baby will need while they are in hospital.

Each bag includes a long list of products, such as nappies, wipes, clothes and wraps for the baby, and toiletries, maternity pads, breast pads and a notebook for the mother.

Baby Bumpkin Bags offers baby girl bags, baby boy bags, gender neutral bags and bags for parents expecting twins.

Ms James said that, in the rush to get to hospital, parents can often forget to pack the essentials, which is where this bag can help.

She was inspired to create the service in Bathurst after coming across a woman in Canberra doing something similar, with cardboard boxes, when she was pregnant.

"I had thought about getting one for so long and when it came time to pack my bag for the hospital, I had forgotten a lot of stuff," she said.

Since starting the business last year, Ms James has sold around 15 bags to people all over Australia.

"They love them. I've had a few people buy bags as gifts," she said.

People can visit the Baby Bumpkin Bags Facebook page to find information about purchasing the bags. Afterpay will be available from April 3. 

Bags cost $150, which includes the cost of the bag and all the contents.

As Ms James keeps a lot of stock on hand, the bags can be assembled very quickly.

Pick-up and delivery are available depending on the location.

Ms James hoped that the bags would take some of the stress of pregnancy away from expectant parents.

"I think it is very important from my own experiences, because anything can happen at anytime," she said.

"I just mainly want to help people not have to stress about that one little thing."
