Troy is currently touring the country to promote his latest compilation album, Greatest Hits, featuring 42 of the finest songs across his three-decade long career.
The 37-time Golden Guitar winner is promoting the tour as a series of intimate storytelling shows that will aim to replicate the feeling of playing music around a campfire.
"I wanted to capture the essence of these songs on this tour, and I felt the best way to achieve this was to perform them acoustically as a storyteller with a guitar," Troy said.
"Performing these songs in such an intimate fashion allows for a more powerful connection with the audience and it brings me back to my early years playing gigs in pubs."
When a musician embarks on a tour, they often enlist the help of a support act who fits the atmosphere of the main act's music.
Troy's choice of support act, his 18-year-old daughter Jem Cassar-Daley, came from a desire to showcase the virtue of family.
"Jem brings a real sense of honesty to the shows, and I've loved being able to watch her on this tour," he said.
"She's already written a song for her set with Catherine Britt, and it's already 10 times better than anything I wrote at 18."
While sharing the same passion for music as her famous father, Jem's music is more piano-driven and adopts a soulful tone.
"At one of the shows, a person came up to the signing desk and remarked that Jem was Australia's answer to Norah Jones," Troy said.
"Jem is finding her feet as she goes, and this tour is a great opportunity for her to gain some vital gigging experience."
Troy's Greatest Hits album features two brand new songs; 'Wouldn't Change a Thing' and 'Shadows on the Hill.'
According to Troy, the two songs serve as apt reflections on his entire career.

"With 'Wouldn't Change a Thing,' I look back at all the decisions I've made along the way and how they have shaped me as a musician," he said.
"Meanwhile, 'Shadows on the Hill' came from an old camping area I used to frequent as a child."
Troy Cassar-Daley will be performing on Friday, April 5 at the Bathurst RSL Club from 8pm. Tickets start from $20 and are available online.
