Bathurst Pandragons junior paddler Jacob Waldron will compete in the NSW State Junior Division at the Australian Dragon Boat Championships on Canberra's Lake Burley Griffin over the Easter weekend.

The junior team, known as the Joeys, provides young paddlers with the opportunity to gain experience at elite level.
Jacob, 13, is a regular paddler with the Bathurst Pandragons and has participated in NSW regional and metropolitan regattas. He will compete in 200m, 500m and 2km races at the championships.
Joining Jacob in Canberra will be two adult Bathurst Pandragon paddlers, Vicki Gransden and Deb Clarke, who were selected in the NSW State Western Division team.
Lou Linke from Bathurst is also the head coach for the Western team which includes elite paddlers from Lithgow, Bathurst, Orange, Forbes, Parkes, Wagga and Dubbo dragon boat clubs.
Dragon boating is a sport open to everyone over age 12 years and is a fun sport whether competing at regattas or paddling socially.
