So it speaks volumes of the quartet's desire to give back to the game that they were all in Bathurst last weekend putting the next crop of Group 10 referees through their Foundation 1 Course.
In the lead-up to the NRL game at Carrington Park the Group 10 Referees Association enjoyed a great turnout of 20 new referees at Jack Arrow Oval and Klein and his fellow NRL officials gave up their time to share their experience in the big time.
Referees association president Nathan Blanchard said it was an absolute privilege to have top grade referees attend the course.
"The smile and the look on the new young referees faces when some of the best referees in the NRL walked in and discussed their experiences was absolutely amazing to see," he said.
"Without the persistence of Group 10 referees Association secretary Nick Lander this would not have been possible."
These young, up-and-coming referees will cut their teeth on the field this weekend in Orange at the junior carnival on April 6 and Blanchard said the end goal was for them to transition into the senior ranks and potentially progress through to NRL as well.
