The building was completed mid February, when the commissioning process began. Now its almost complete, paramedics are expecting to be working from the new building in early May.
Zone Commander, NSW Central West, Supt Brad Porter said information and computer technology systems will be completed next week, with the go live date after Easter.
In between now and then all staff will be inducted into the building, receive station manuals and security cards.
When the station does go live Supt Porter said it will be a seamless transition, with absolutely no disruption to services.
"Paramedics will be assigned to a job, and on their return reassigned to the new station.
"For the crews it won't be any different other then return to the new station.
"There will be absolutely no disruption to services," he said.
Supt Porter said staff are really looking forward to the move.
"Everyone is really excited," he said.
Member for Bathurst, Paul Toole, said it was great to be at the "pointy end of business" and getting ready to move into the new station.
"The new station is state of the art, and will make a big difference to not only the local paramedics, but also the wider community," he said.
When the building was handed over back in February Supt Porter said the new facility was "leaps and bounds" ahead of the old ambulance station in William Street, which has been home to paramedics, and the Central West Zone for decades.
The current facility is over 80 years old, with the station operating from downstairs, and Central West Zone upstairs.
It only has room to house four ambulances undercover and securely; the rest are parked at the rear of the station.
By comparison, the new building is purpose built with state-of-the-art facilities and includes a regional education centre, and secure undercover parking for every ambulance unit.
Supt Porter said the new facility is purpose built, and designed by paramedics.
