Bathurst police are in discussions with Bathurst Regional Council to close Pit Straight from Murray's Corner to Hell Corner for four hours on Friday, November 22 to hold the event.
A report to councillors by corporate services and finance director Aaron Jones says council has been asked to waive the usual fees associated with such a closure, expected to cost about $2000.
"The White Ribbon campaign works to raise awareness of violence against women, encouraging men to support women's groups and raise awareness of violence against women," the report states.
Mr Jones said there were sufficient funds available in council's Section 356 Mount Panorama Fee Waiver allocation to cover the waiver and recommended council approve the request.
Councillors will vote on the matter at Wednesday night's monthly meeting.
