On Good Friday, at 3pm, an Augmented Cathedral Choir will be performing John Maunder's magnificent oratorio that tells the Easter Passion story, Olivet To Calvary, in All Saints' Cathedral. It will be presented in the form of a 16th century Miracle Play. The accompaniment, choir and soloists will briefly pause at significant moments in the performance when readers, clad in period costume, will recite short selections of poetry that enhances dramatic moments in the story. Organisers say it will be a totally non-denominational, community-based activity and will present an opportunity for those who may be inclined, just for an hour in their busy lives, to quietly reflect on the event that has contributed more than any other to the culture and the lifestyle we follow every day. Entry will be free.
The Bathurst 6 Hour three-day motorfest will be held at Mount Panorama over the Easter weekend. Support categories will begin on Friday and the 6 Hour race itself will be held on Easter Sunday from 11.30am. Visit www.bathurst6hour.com.au for more information.
