SEVENTEEN years after her grandfather Tony 'AD' Turnbull steered Just Scootin to victory in the Renshaw Cup, Amanda Turnbull will line up with the favourite to take out the 2019 edition of the Penrith feature.

Turnbull will steer her five-year-old gelding Ellmers Image in the Group 2 race and such is his form that even a barrier 11 draw did not deter bookmakers from installing him as $2.80 favourite.
In his last start the Falcon Seelster x Ellmer Joy gelding took out the Group 3 Ilsley Memorial for the The Lagoon trainer-driver in a blistering 1:49.6 mile rate.
Adding even more merit to that effort at Menangle was that Ellmers Image worked three wide and faced the breeze during the trip.

While Amanda Turnbull does not boast a prior Renshaw Cup win, her family has enjoyed success in past editions of the 2,525 metres race.
AD Turnbull guided Just Scootin to a comfortable 4.5m win in 2002, her father Steve took the honours in 2006 with Fierce Allegiance, while her cousin Emma Turnbull saluted with Blue Gum Forest in 2007.
If Amanda Turnbull is to join them, it will take another strong effort from Inter Dominion Consolation victor Ellmers Image given his draw and the field.
The runners for Thursday's $50,000 race includes 2016 Renshaw Cup winner Yayas Hot Spot, James Rattray's Ignatius who won 11 of 13 starts last season and Kiwi import Sicario.
The race starts 8.30pm.
