This escape room differs from a physical one, where it is created on a PC and then viewed on smart devices through the Metaverse app.
"Ours is a challenge to find certain things and hide them in the library," Bathurst Regional Library outreach program officer Natalie Conn said.
"The teams that come in on Thursday will have to try and escape the building with the AR that was created on Wednesday.
"In the past we've created a physical escape room in the library."
On Thursday there will be multiple sessions to experience the AR escape room.
Sessions will run from 10.30am to 11.30am, midday to 1pm, 2pm to 3pm and 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
The program is for young people aged 12 to 17.
The AR escape room is one of the many activities Bathurst Regional Council has been holding to celebrate NSW Youth Week.
One of the last events held during Youth Week includes a Bluntside Youth Week Clinic, which will be held at the Bathurst Skate Park on Thursday, April 18, from 1pm to 5pm.
