The charity golf event invites members of the community to compete in a four-person ambrose, with tee-off scheduled for 1.30pm.
Mr Waterford decided to incorporate his love of golf into raising awareness for his Stars of Bathurst campaign because he said golf is a great way to bring people together.
"I've been to a few golf charity days in the past and they've been successful at bringing people together for a good cause," he said.
"In terms of numbers, I'm hoping for around 30 to 50 people, but it will depend on who shows up on the day."
The main event will be preceded by a barbecue at 12.30pm, and there will be prizes and an auction following the end of play.
Mr Waterford has been named as one of eight local identities to participate in this year's Stars of Bathurst event, which sees contestants raising funds for the NSW Cancer Council.
The event has been running since 2015 and has brought out a brand new side to some of Bathurst's familiar faces.
"I'm excited to be involved with this year's Stars of Bathurst event and I'm eager to raise much needed funds for cancer research," Mr Waterford said.
"This event is going to bring me out of my comfort zone as I've never really seen myself as someone who has been able to perform in front of large crowds."
Mr Waterford was nominated for the event by his work colleagues, and hopes his fundraising efforts will go towards supporting as many cancer-affected families as possible.
"There's so many people that are affected by cancer, whether it be a family member, a good friend or a work colleague," he said.
"My grandmother successfully battled breast cancer, but she had to overcome significant hurdles in order to do so."
The Stars of Bathurst Dance for Cancer event is scheduled to be held at the Bathurst Goldfields on Saturday, June 15.
