The latest production from Carillon Theatrical Society, The Addams Family Musical follows the aforementioned family in all their glory as an inversion of the typical 20th century American family.
Co-directed by Wane Howard and Andrew Cutts, the production focuses on how the Addams' macabre family values contrast with those of the more traditional Beineke family.
"The plot follows a grown-up Wednesday Addams as she introduces her new boyfriend, Lucas Beineke and his parents to her family, and sparks fly in ways you won't expect," Mr Howard said.
"While the Addams' have a reputation for being dark and gothic, the reality is that their moral compass is slightly askewed from the rest of the world."
The Addams family features Gomez [Ben McGrath], Morticia [Amanda Jones], Uncle Fester [Graham McNab], Wednesday [Ellen Bolger-Rowe], Pugsley [Dalton Walter], Grandma [Helen Taylor] and Lurch [Fred Madden].
Meanwhile, the Beineke family consists of Mal [Rhys Dive], Alice [Penny Williams] and Lucas [George Sargent.]
The cast has been hard at work rehearsing since January, and have enjoyed the journey to bring such a unique musical to life.
Ms Bolger-Rowe has found it an absolute joy to step into the shoes of Wednesday Addams.
"Wednesday experiences this transformation from a dark, emotionless girl into a love-struck young woman and I've enjoyed being able to portray this transition," she said
As the patriarch of the Addams family, Mr McGrath has had to strive beyond his years to assume the character of Gomez.
"I'm a 20-year-old male trying to play the father of a crazy family, but I feel the values the Addams family hold dear will hit home with many members of the audience," he said.
Mr Cutts has assumed directional duties in a Carillon production for the very first time, and said the cast has been an absolute thrill to work with.
"It's been fantastic to see the cast embrace the kookiness and silliness of this show," he said.
"Some members of the cast are performing in lead roles for the first time, and it'll be nice to present a new take on characters many people will be familiar with."
The Addams Family Musical opens tomorrow night at 7.30pm, and Mr Howard said the show has been a pleasure to direct.
"It's a fun family show filled with witty injections of dark comedy," he said.
Tickets are available from the BMEC website.
