The work includes a series of new bus shelters that have been built along Boyd Street as well as a covered walkway providing a link to the school.
This custom-built bus shelters extend for about 100 metres, with each about three metres deep.
They have been built with money provided through the NSW Government's 2017-19 Country Passenger Transport Infrastructure Grants Scheme following an application by Bathurst Regional Council.
The government also provided funding of $20,000 for the covered walkway from the bus shelter to the school's administration block, providing covered access to and from the school.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole said he had personally been fighting for the covered walkway for some time and was pleased to see it also come to fruition.
"The 82 metre long by 2.4 metre wide covered walkway has been a pet project for the now retired and former long-serving Kelso High teacher Hans Stroeve, along with the school's P&C," he said.
"The [government] funding helped get Kelso High over the line to be able to proceed with the covered walkway after a tireless fundraising campaign."
